Carpet Stair Runners are certainly making a comeback as they can add a different
feature to stairs and hallways. We can make any carpet into a stair runner as we
can finish edges with either whipping, fabric or even leather. This makes for a
unique look to suit your stairs.
RUNNERS FOR STRIPED CARPETS
In the past few years Plain off white carpet has been used throughout houses including
stairs, unfortunately light carpets do not last too long on stair cases. So striped carpets and stripes
with lighter colours in have become popular as you can match texture and base colours
with one of the colours which make up the striped carpets.

STAIR RUNNER, RODS & EDGING
Runners can be used in Hallways and Landings if required. They are usually made
from the same carpet that has been chosen for the stairs, but bound around the edges
then simply laid over the existing floor.
Stair runners are fixed with normal underlay and grippers and don't need rods to
hold them in place, the rods are for decoration only. The size of the runners you
choose, but we recommend 5"-6" gap between the edge of the carpet to the skirting
board. This allows rods to be fitted comfortably and shows off either painted or
stained floorboards. Where the stair turns (winders), we match the internal turn
if in a stripe carpet the wider the stripe the more the pattern will run out (see
portfolio), but in most cases you will not notice unless you look very closely.
If there are winders we will need to cut the carpet to size on site then have the
carpet edges bound. This will need 2 visits to complete the job. It is impossible
to price per metre for this type of job so we give a total price for all the work.
